Radio Station Research
I went into Anchorage last night, participating in a music preference review for one of the local radio stations. It was kewl, went to the Millennium hotel on Spenard Road and sat in a conference room for two hours, with a break in the rough middle point of that time. Listen to clips of music averaging about 6 seconds in length and score it based on how well we like it, if we don’t want to hear it very much, or if we had never heard it before.
It was a nice way to get out of the house for a few hours, my dad and brother got to spend some time together (they drove me into town), and I got paid for my participation in the panel. I just wish that the two I had referred to the thing had got the chance to participate as well, however, they were not able to get in touch with the people running it. There was someone else in line that had been trying to get in touch with the researchers, and failed, but was there with her friend to see if she could participate if not everyone showed up. She was told that she was welcome to listen in, but could not participate and would not be paid because they only paid the people that had passed a prescreening process and were on their sign-in list.
