I am sitting here listening to the news talking about people losing their jobs and even though I work for myself, I can not help but feel the stress as well. Sitting here I ran through what my earnings were for last year, and when I added everything up for each of the months I was depressed to realize that for the entire year I earned what I should have earned in a month.
And this year is not exactly off to a good start. So far for 2009 I have made $57.49. Not even $2 a day, much less $2 an hour… shoot, if I break that down into an hourly wage I have made about… umm… I dunno.. anywhere from about a penny and a half to three cents an hour?
Job loss is obviously not restricted to people that bring in a W2 from an employer, it also has a major effect on those who work for themselves losing not just their job, but their entire business.
I was going to do a bit of research on this, but realized IO am over the limit on my Internet use through my ISP for January, so will have to hold off on that mostly curiosity based research.
