Transcription work

I’m working on transcribing some audio tapes for someone. Audio transcription is something that I have been thinking of trying my hand at for quite a while, so it is very kewl to me that I am getting a chance to test it out and see if it is something that I would like to do on a more permanent basis.  So far I have found that I really enjoy doing it.  I’m not going to say what it is that I am transcribing, but it is very interesting stuff and I am enjoying listening to it as I work, which helps a lot when I have to back up and listen to something over again to make sure I got the words all copied right.

So far I am thinking that I will add transcription work to my “work I do” listing, which needs to be put up on this site I suppose, huh?  I’m also currently working on two basic ads for someone else.  Fairly easy stuff, so I should have them both done by morning as long as the low headache I am fighting goes away and lets me work.

My teeth decided they want to act up, and they are doing it in the  form of causing a headache that makes the work I am doing miserable.  I blame the headphones for that.  They are a funky pair I guess are meant for runners, but they fit weird and are tight on my head – so trying to put them on is awkward, then the ear pads don’t sir right so I have to hold them in place with both hands, making hitting play difficult.  Then I have to remove them to enter the text, put them back on, double check it reads right, listen to next part and do it all over again.

I definately need good headphones if I am going to do transcription work.
