Working on my book

I’ve dove back into working on my novel, Heir to Magic, getting it put into yWriter and starting back into recreating the outline - which I lost in one of the many office moves. ::sigh::

I’m in the process of organizing each chapter on 5×8 index cards and writing down the basic descriptive for each of the scenes in the chapters, that way I can flip through them and remind myself at a glance what was covered in each of the chapters. I have also printed out the whole thing as it is so far - 55,000 + words and still lots of plot thread to cover.

I want to multitask today on working on that and getting my website for the novel updated with a new program I found that I like - Icy Phoenix. It will let me create everything I think I have been wanting to include on that website, including a forum for people to talk about my writing.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend, you Alaskan’s catch a lot of salmon - I know that’s where 90% of you are, I had to fight my way through the traffic getting back home on Thursday as everyone with a camper, motorhome or pup tent swam north on the Parks Highway headed for their favorite fishing destination.

I’m caught up working on a program at the moment, and have been for past couple of weeks. It should be worth the confusing learningcurve, however, since I think it will let me t last set this website up to be what I had envisioned it to be back when I had first started it - an online office for freelancers to share a community where they can work together and share tips, information and everything in between.

While this program so far does not have the blogging capability I was hoping to find, it does integrate the ability to have individual user profile pages, pages for members to showcase their work, and article submissions - with a great forum! Oh, and a chat program, but I’m not sure if I like that or not yet. It seems more like a spiffed up Shoutbox than a chat area. We’ll see. I’m working on the site I have it loaded onto over this weekend, then might be putting it here or at Family Caregiver Info - not quite sure which one I’ll target next yet. It should do exactly what I want for both of these sites, though, and I am hoping that when I dive into add-ons for this program tonight that I’ll be able to find the stuff (such as revenue share and member points and stuff like that) that I had loved with Drupal.

Keep tuned in, I’ll update here later on with more details on pending changes to Freelancer’s Office as I get the chance to test this new program out more.
