Test Google.com snatchings by a leech

This is a test post from www.freelancersoffice.com to see if a certain site really is stealing my content just to get themselves Google.com AdSense revenue. You see, my last post came back at once as being quoted and the site is a leech that seeps posts from other sites so it can make money from Google. So, if you read this anywhere other than at www.freelancersoffice.com or your own RSS feed you got from Freelancer’s Office, please report the website to Google so they can catch the person. Thank you.

WTF? Google.com redirecting to Google.es?

I’m not sure just what the heck is going on, or if I have somehow tweaked a setting in Firefox I should not have tweaked by downloading FoxClocks, but when I tried to do a search on Google just a minute ago it searched via the Spanish version of Google instead.  WTF?

Okay, I can take a joke, I’ll just enter the url directly and go to Google.com.  Nope, it immediately redirects me to Google Espana… hmm… Annoying.  How about switching browsers?  Nope, Internet Explorer does it too.  It is a flaw in the matrix and it seems to be on Google’s end, not mine.

Or is it?  Just as I was thinking that some dorky Cracker out there seems to have decided to entertain themselves with cracking into the Google I spy the “Google.com in English” link and decide, okay, see what that does…

Yeah, it worked.  I’m guessing that somehow I got the matching “Go to Google.com in Espana” clicked during my last visit and did not notice it, so my cookies file decided I want to default over to the Spanish one every time.  At least I sorted it out, now back to work on the website I was working on.

I won writing contest!

I was just idly looking at some things online and realized that I had won a writing contest that I had entered.  Not a lot of money, just $5.00, but that is a great boost not only to my wallet but my confidence as well.  It is very kewl to find out that I have won a peer reviewed contest.

I’m spending the rest of tonight making the rounds of my websites, see which ones have actually had content updated lately and what ones are in need of having some updates.  I’m not in a focused enough mindset to do any actual work, so it’s a good night to just fiddle and make sure things are updated.

Final Harry Potter movie to be two films

I was over at Writer’s Write and saw a post there that announced that the final film in the Harry Potter series is going to be split into two different films. The film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s final book in the Harry Potter series required either a longer film format, or trimming too many major plot points to make the film do justice to the book and series. So, Warner Bros. will be splitting the film into two movies to be released in November 2010 and May 2011.

According to the information at Writer’s Write, the film adaptation will be written by Steve Kloves, who wrote all but one of the movies so far. Writer’s Write also reports that all of the major stars have confirmed they will be in the final two films. For more information on this check out the IMDB entry for the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 - they do not yet have anything for part 2 up.
