ARGH! Horrible Explorer!

I just thought to check up on my sites using Internet Explorer rather than Firefox and guess what? Inernet Explorer shows up as a jumbled mess.  ::pounds head on desk::::

I need to redo the template on all of my sites to make it cross-platform friendly and then reconfigure the whole mess to make it work across them all and then put back in all the coding that is independent to each of the individual sites and then… :::collapses in a heap and whimpers::: I hate monkeying code…

The revised to-do list

I have started to work out a plan for how to tackle the things that I have to get done in the work day, it started out with a revision on how to track my website activity and is now entering a revision of how I approach my to-do lists.  I have always made to-do lists, but they tend to be a little like trying to achieve New Years’ resolutions in a single day.  Things like:

1. do laundry
2. do dishes
3. write
4. update websites
5. check e-mail
6. ….

You get the picture.  Well, I have decided that I need to be more focused and realistic on what my to-do lists have on them. Today’s list is going to be more like…

1. do 1 load of laundry
2. clean sink out and do 1 sink full of dishes
3. write 150 words on Heir to Magic
4. update Alaska Home & Garden with a customized administration panel
5. take 15 minutes - timed - to check e-mail for e-mail I am expecting
6. ….

This is a more focused series of goals that I have to get done.  I need to look for a certain e-mail, however, I tend to get lost in deleting SPAM whenever I open my e-mail, today at 15 minutes I have to close the e-mail and get back to it later on, after my work has been completed.  I have went to customize the admin panel at Alaska Home and Garden a lot of times, and never actually got it done because I have got sidetracked.  Today that is the goal.

I don’t know if this will really work in my favor or if I’ll end up wasting more time coming up with defined to-do’s than I would getting side tracked, but we’ll see how it works out at the end of the day.  It don’t help that I got a late start and am only just now, at 5p.m, getting to start work for the day.

Taxes and Politics… what a way to start the morning

Ah yes, I began my day in the most American of manners I suppose… doing taxes. Not mine, no, I am waiting until I can afford to pick up a copy of Turbo Tax to tackle mine (besides, I’m still waiting on a couple of 1099’s to get here), nope, I woke up and dove headlong into my parent’s taxes. Once I had got them done I wandered in and watched the results of Super Tuesday on the TV my mom was watching and me and her got to talking about assorted things to do with politics and somehow that meandered around to us trying to recall the name of the psychic that Ronald Regan was always consulting… hmmm… No luck - hit Google.

Ah yes, there we go, Sylvia Brown! Small victory for the Google Bots… wait… what’s that say?

Look a few entries down on the Google search for “ronald regan psychic”– “Ronald Reagan’s ghost has decided to finally weigh in on the political season…..” Oh rly? Do tell!

The link leads me off to Daily Kos where the breaking news story is well worth checking out. It seems that the ghost of former President Ronald Regan has finally spoken through beloved psychic Oda Mae Brown. I won’t tell you who Ronnie is endorsing, don’t wanna steal the spotlight from the Daily Kos because you really should go read the entry, but what made me snicker most was not who was being backed, it was who Regan spoke through.

I love Oda Mae Brown… :-D

Online Office Organization

I have decided that the only way to get my work done productively is to dedicate some time to online office organization.  I will be spending most of this weekend in the act of organizing my virtual office so that I can more easily locate things online and get my work done.
