Am I in your way?

This is my cat, Harry Potter, who I suppose you could say is my muse/editor/critic… well, the office cat. Here he is making sure that he is impossible to ignore. Usually he just sits beside me and reaches up to tap my leg with a paw, however, this time he was not getting attention doing that, so he decided that he knew how to get my attention. He jumped up and sat himself on the mouse pad as I worked at the computer. He was not particularly interested in allowing me to have enough room to move the mouse, not when I should have been petting him instead. Silly human.

Am I in your way?

Work giving way to cookies for a little while

I’ve been neglecting my writing work today so that I can get some cleaning done on the kitchen and get ready to make cookies and candies for Christmas.  I was thinking about not making any sweets because my diet is not going so well, but I really am not doing bad considering how much I cheated on the diet (a bunch of Hershey’s candy ate and pies and stuff from Thanksgiving and I only gained about 5 pounds - 2.4 of which I lost already).  So, I have decided that I will go ahead and make the stuff I had planned for Christmas and not let being on a diet spoil enjoying the holiday season.

Of course, that means I’m not getting as much writing done as I should be, but that’s okay, I’m at least keeping up with things.

Typos - gotta love them

Slowling.  I was highly tempted to go back and correct that when I just saw it in my previous post about my shoulder slowing me down, but then I decided I like ’slowling’.  It is one of those typos that writers make and then sit back and go “Oh… I like that!”  A word that is scribbled down to be remembered for future use.  Only those who love words seem to have this fetish.  An impulsive need to collect words to themselves and tuck even the malformed ones that came out as a typo away for potential use in a novel.

Maybe someone will be talking and accidentally say something is slowling, sparking a moment of humor.   Maybe it will be used as part of an accent I will create one day - I say Warshington after all, why can’t someone say slowling?

Search expanded for freelance writers

I have shifted around the appearance of the website and added in Google search capability for Project Gutenberg and Wikipedia.  I was not sure what sites would be useful for use as cross reference for people, so I selected those as ones I know have a lot of information freely available for anyone that is doing research or looking for something to read.

If you have suggestions on sites that would make better search sites for this website I am open for recommendations on what site searches would be of most use to the freelancer community.

Shoulder pain is slowling me down

My left shoulder has been hurting really bad for a while now, so I have been slowing down a lot in an effort to get the pain to ease off in it some.  I think that most of the trouble is strain in the muscles from the amount of typing that I do, so I have started trying to type more with my right hand than with my left and when the pain flares up I type one handed.

This has slowed down my work and made me stop a lot of the writing that I had been doing that was not really essential, but I don’t want to let my websites be forgotten in the mess, so this morning I am making some rounds and getting my sites all at least looked at and seeing if I can do anything to the way they look and get them tweaked a little bit closer to what I am trying to create with them.
